The Citadel: Little River's Food Hall for When Everyone Wants Something Different
Some nights nobody can agree on dinner. One person wants pizza, somebody wants poke, and somebody else just wants a burger. That's when we send people to The Citadel, a food hall and rooftop bar at 8300 NE 2nd Avenue in Little River. From Shoe Gallery it's a quick ride west on 79th Street and a few blocks up NE 2nd Avenue, and everybody gets what they want at the same table.
First Impressions & Vibe
The Citadel opened in 2019, and Miami New Times described the look as industrial meets rustic inn, with keyhole doors, natural wood, greenery and exposed pipes. Walk the main hallway and you'll pass those big round keyhole doorways on the way to the food.
The Citadel says it was inspired by the great public gathering spaces around the world, and you can feel it: long communal tables, high bar seats and room for the whole crew. The Infatuation called it a pretty casual setup with plenty of seating for big groups. Trust us, this is the kind of spot you bring the family, the team or the out-of-town cousins who can't decide.

What to Order
The move here is simple: split up, hit different counters and meet back in the middle. Here's the lineup listed on The Citadel's website:
- Stanzione Pizza: Neapolitan pizza cooked over a wood fire. Franco Stanzione ran Stanzione 87 in Brickell for 11 years before moving the pizzeria here in 2024.
- USBS (United States Burger Service): burgers made mostly from scratch, from the spot Miami New Times named Best Burger in 2020.
- Manjay: modern Caribbean cuisine from Christian Dominique.
- PHO SHO: Vietnamese fast food from the Phuc Yea crew, with crispy imperial rolls, summer rolls, pho and noodle dishes.
- Poke-San and Maki San: build-your-own poke bowls plus a sushi counter from the same team.
- Borti Pasta Bar & Bottega: an Italian pasta bar.
- The Shores Fish Market: Old Florida style fresh seafood.
- Doña Posada: a Venezuelan bakery with breads and pastries baked fresh daily.
- The Wrap Man: Mediterranean bowls, wraps, kebabs and salads.
- Sweet Melody for small-batch ice cream and Vice City Bean for coffee.
Rooftop Drinks and More
When the sun starts going down, head upstairs. The official Miami and Beaches visitor guide describes cocktails and tableside service on the rooftop, which has its own bar, plenty of shaded seating and leafy views of the neighborhood. The Citadel takes rooftop RSVPs on its website. Want something moodier? Bar Kaiju is a craft cocktail bar on the mezzanine above the food hall, with drinks dedicated to monsters from around the world.

Before you leave, browse Sir Thrifty, a vintage boutique with everything from collectable toys to vintage fashion. The Citadel also keeps an events calendar, and recent listings included weekly trivia, bingo hosted by Sir Thrifty and a Sunday rooftop brunch.
