Nike AF1 West Indies Celebration at Shoe Gallery

Nike AF1 West Indies Celebration at Shoe Gallery
Date: August 26th
Location: Shoe Gallery – Upper East Side
To celebrate the re-release of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 “West Indies”, Shoe Gallery brought the culture full circle with an immersive event rooted in music, flavor, and Caribbean pride.
- Legendary DJ Tom Laroc was on the 1s and 2s, spinning reggae vinyl and honoring the genre’s rich history while keeping the vibes high.
- LunchMoney Lewis hosted an intimate Q+A session discussing his musical upbringing in a reggae household and the influence of his father, Ian Lewis (of Inner Circle and Bad Boys fame).
- King Jerk Food Truck served up authentic jerk chicken, rice and peas, and other island classics that had the crowd lining up and doubling back for seconds.
- Visuals of the West Indies-themed in-store installation brought the release to life, with community-focused energy and deep color-coded storytelling tying it all together.
The event honored Shoe Gallery’s deep-rooted connection with its Caribbean clientele, a relationship that dates back to the 1970s. From Broward to Downtown to the UES, this one felt like a family reunion with a Nike twist.
