GIVE THANKS! A CELEBRATION OF PLUS GIVENS’ 20 YEARS IN DESIGN
On May 13th, we honored an icon in the South Florida fashion community: Plus Givens, whose work has shaped the culture with bold originality for two decades. From flea market staples to viral tees and custom denim, Plus Givens has become a name synonymous with authenticity, craftsmanship, and local pride.
To mark the 20th anniversary of his design journey, Shoe Gallery proudly hosted a retrospective pop-up celebrating Plus’ impact on Miami’s fashion scene. Aptly titled "Give Thanks", the event welcomed the community to pay tribute to his roots, his evolution, and the culture that raised him.
The event space was transformed into a visual tribute to his Caribbean heritage. Fellow Jamaican and Shoe Gallery in-house designer VanShun Brown brought the mural to life with a stunning ocean-themed backdrop, giving attendees the perfect selfie moment to commemorate the day.
Guests enjoyed natural juices infused with sea moss, courtesy of Vital Only, and mouthwatering vegan bites by Alem Cooks—a refreshing nod to Plus’ commitment to wellness and cultural preservation.
In addition to showcasing his newest Give Thanks T-shirt, Plus debuted a variety of new denim and apparel silhouettes, all designed with the meticulous detail he’s known for. As always, his designs told stories—this time, of reflection, gratitude, and legacy.
What made this moment even more special was the mix of generations in attendance—young designers, long-time collectors, graffiti legends, and creatives from both Broward (954) and Miami (305). From the sidewalk to the showroom, the energy was full of love and appreciation for someone who’s been putting on for the city long before it was cool.
From flea market tees to gallery walls, Plus Givens has shown what it means to design with purpose. We’re honored to have shared this milestone with him and look forward to supporting the next chapter of his journey.
